Disability Support Worker Team
Support for NDIS participants
❊ About
Built on a Proven Model Since 1997
The Community Active Supports (CAS) Disability Support Worker team has been built from the fundamental business model established in 1997 by Brett and Cathy Hayes through their long-standing health and fitness business, Big Shot.
CAS follows the Big Shot 75–90+ minute session formula, designed to provide a complete, engaging experience without feeling rushed. Each session also includes the use of the CAS Backpack, which holds a range of active support equipment based on the participant’s preferences and goals.
This gives each individual the ability to shape sessions around what they enjoy—making every session motivating, appropriately challenging, and most importantly… FUN.
❊ How
Our Goals for Every Participant
CAS Disability Support Workers are guided by four core goals for every participant:
Promote
Inclusivity
Ensuring everyone, regardless of ability, has the opportunity to participate in active support activities.
Improve Health & Wellbeing
Supporting physical and mental health, fitness, and overall wellbeing through regular movement and participation.
Build Social
Skills
Encouraging social interaction, communication, and meaningful connections through shared experiences.
Boost
Confidence
Building self-esteem and a sense of personal accomplishment through progress and participation.
Enhancing Community Participation
-
Teaching individuals how to work towards their physical and mental health and wellbeing goals, so they can participate more confidently in community activities.
-
Encouraging individuals to participate in local events, groups, and activities, fostering a stronger sense of belonging.
-
Supporting involvement in hobbies, sport, and recreational activities that grow friendships, social networks, and overall wellbeing.
CAS Disability Support Workers enhance community participation in a way that aligns seamlessly with NDIS Core Supports – Assistance with Social and Community Participation.
We support individuals to build confidence, social connection, and everyday capability through community-based participation.
❊ The Experience
What a CAS Session Looks Like
CAS follows the Big Shot 75–90+ minute session formula, allowing enough time for a full, meaningful session that supports progress without feeling rushed.
Each session includes the use of the CAS Backpack—a kit of active support equipment chosen to suit individual goals, needs, and preferences. This gives participants the opportunity to shape sessions around what they enjoy, making the experience motivating, challenging, and most importantly—FUN.
